We’re excited to announce that the new year brings a new category to the Mechlab Productions line: Circuit Bending.
Frequent Mechlab Industries contributor, John Ingram, has ported over all the surviving content from his defunct BentPedals.com website to seed this new category with bending guides for several guitar pedals, as well as some older keyboards and toys. BentPedals.com was active from 2004-2007 and, at its peak, showcased bending guides for two dozen pedals, toys and keyboards. Sadly, many of those guides were lost after the site was shut down in 2008. But some did survive and we’re stoked to be able to share those with you now.
Over the coming months, we plan to revisit these surviving guides, exploring each bend and better documenting how each bend affects the overall sound of the device. We’re also planning to expand the category to include new pedals, keyboards and toys. One of the first new inclusions will be a circuit bent Kawai WK 40 keyboard, which is one of the best circuit bent devices we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.
If this sort of thing is your jam–and if you’re reading this, it might be–then we encourage you to stay tuned for updates.
We’ve also managed to recapture the BentPedals.com domain name, so we’ll have to stop referring to it as a “defunct” website.
